As a Mayor, I understand the need for increased police staffing and training, funding for necessary equipment and support for first responders, improved drug treatment and recovery resources, and support for survivors of violence. 

• We need to provide funding for necessary upgrades and replacements for inadequate essential public safety infrastructure, including 911 and interoperability.

• Especially being in a high-risk wildfire region, we need to explore options to efficiently and cost-effectively provide fire and emergency medical services in our communities.

• We need to invest in prevention and intervention programs to reduce criminal activity, as well as pursue expansion of mental health outreach services outside of the criminal justice system.
